Eight people have been kidnapped from around the world with no connection to one another, other than the fact that they are deeply tied to the blue zones where people live longer, healthier lives than anywhere else on Earth. The eight seem to have disproportionately perfect genes compared to the rest of the world, which extend youth and vitality, and eradicate both physical and mental illness. The captives are studied and used mercilessly in an effort to gain knowledge to spread wealth and power that comes with a genetic map that leads to the Fountain of Youth. Yet, through all of this, they find strength in one another, their faith, and even love through their ordeal, which will change all of their lives forever.

Southern lawyers, Andrew McGrath and Angie Lawrence, have been seeking the keys to their past and their future most of their lives. Unbeknownst to either of them, each has the pieces to the puzzle the other is missing. Through the words of a young girl written in a journal well over a hundred years ago, the two begin the journey of unraveling their history. The last thing they expected to discover was mystery and murder along the way. Neither of them were prepared for the brutality they would encounter or the love that grew from it. They quickly realize they must overcome the past if they have any hope for a future.

I’ve heard some people in Culpeper say that they feel intimidated by Cameron Manor's appearance. With its gray stone front porch pillars, wrapped in greenish blue ivy, and the rounded peak of the tower in the back. I'd say it looks like the magic castle you’d see on the cover of a storybook about a fairytale princess. But appearances can be deceiving. Being born into the only life you could ever want is a rare and precious thing. Everything my heart desired was literally at my fingertips, so how could I have known that having dreams didn’t mean I’d be able to hold onto them forever? For all its splendor and prestige, Cameron Manor taught me a lesson: “Every beautiful thing has at least one flaw and every wish you make doesn’t always come true.” My mother and I both fell into that reality, her from a height that changed our lives forever; me into another time and place that could tear apart what is left of the peace in our family. I can’t change what living a fairytale life has done to our past, but I will do anything in my power to protect the people I love from what the secrets of Cameron Manor could do to change the shape of our future.

I have loved hiding in the branches of our willow tree since I was a child. My mother told me once that willows represent hope and give us a good example of how we should live our lives. They are one of the few trees that can bend and twist into seemingly impossible shapes, but have an innate strength that holds them up and keeps them growing skyward, even in the worst of storms. As I sat there looking through the long tresses, I prayed I would have even just a small portion of the hope and resilience my mother saw in the willow. I leaned against it thinking of how I'd been sheltered by so many people, just as the tree hid me now. I also knew I couldn't stay. It was my turn to protect my family and the safe haven that our home provided. It was my turn to make sure we would all survive while I kept our lives and futures intact. I was torn, afraid and conflicted, but resolute in my determination to face the winds of change that were coming and hold on to the dreams we'd built at Cameron Manor.
